When we launched our Turnkey Design Service, our goal was to infuse each project with the essence of quiet luxury—a concept we’ve always embraced. While quiet luxury might feel like a modern idea, it has always been at the heart of AM Living’s philosophy. The project we are about to unveil is filled with sophistication, understated elegance and a beating heart, that pulses in every room. Welcome to A Home with Heart, nestled in the heart of Porto, Portugal.

AM Living, in collaboration with Carlos dos Santos, wanted to create a home that would reflect back to their owners. A home that would encourage them to rest, when they had to, a home that would lift them up, a home that would make them connect with one another, a home that would allow them to work if need be. A true home is not a static showcase or a museum-like space where everything must remain pristine. Instead, it is a living, breathing environment designed to serve those who inhabit it. And this is something that is different for everyone. At its core, the essence of true luxury lies in having a space that not only meets but also anticipates and fulfills your needs—a place where life unfolds effortlessly.

When we see a finished project, it often looks so cohesive and put together that it is hard to imagine the many steps it took to bring that vision to life. Before we even begin designing, there are countless questions we must consider to create a concept that will truly serve as the foundation for the project:

1.  Who will call this space home?
2. What are their daily habits, routines, interests, and dislikes?
3. Which colors and patterns make them feel at ease, or excite them?
4. What personal heirlooms would they like to highlight, and what kind of art resonates with them?

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Adding a beating heart to what was just a house is a deeply personal and intimate process—one that requires time, dedication, expertise, and artistry.

There is one undeniable truth about a healthy heart – it pulses with life. A home that speaks to you is one that electrifies you and gets the best out of you. Every room holds its own treasure, offering something meaningful to your daily experience.
